Introducing
Solicitor and Company Director
Originally from Northern Ireland, Susan has been with the Worcester Family Law Practice since 2010 as an Associate Solicitor and purchased the company with Marisa Hackett in October 2015. She has over 20 years experience as a specialist Family Solicitor and is passionate about her work, guiding people through difficult family situations and offering them her expertise.
She supports the Swan Theatre in Worcester, regularly attends Huntingdon Hall and other music venues throughout the city and enjoys art, visiting museums and is a keen supporter of Worcester City Football Club.
She is a gold patron of Worcester Live, a trustee of the Elgar School of Music, Worcester Municipal Charities, and Kinship Carers UK, as well as being on the board of Asha, a women’s centre for vulnerable women in Worcestershire.
- “I believe in treating people the way that I would like to be treated. I feel that it is important for clients to be given appropriate legal advice in a straightforward way and that they are guided through their problems so that a resolution can be achieved enabling them to move forward into their future in a positive manner.“

Solicitor and Company Director
Marisa joined WFLP in September 2013 as an Associate Solicitor, becoming the firm’s Co-owner with Susan in October 2015.
A qualified solicitor since September 2000 following the completion of her training contract at Challinor’s Lyon Clark in Birmingham, Marisa joined Morton Fisher Solicitors making Associate Solicitor in May 2004. She has been a member of the Family Law Panel since 2004, a member of Resolution since 2013 and became a Collaborative Lawyer with Susan in 2014.
Marisa is a working mother of three young children and has embraced the often hectic lifestyle of juggling work and parenthood, claiming that it has refined her time management and organisational skills at home and at the office. She acknowledges the importance of her role as a mother and what that can bring to her work as a family solicitor.
Other responsibilities include her role as a Chair of Governors at the school that both her sons attend.
- “I like to treat clients in a way that is professional, appropriate and how I feel I would like to be treated in the same situation; with reassurance and confidence while lending a sympathetic ear. I find my work extremely interesting and really enjoy meeting different types of people.”
